The Slower I Go, The More Progress I Make

This might just be the most uncomfortable and paradoxical realisation I’ve ever had:

The slower I go, the more progress I make.

Now, for someone like me, wired for high energy, snap decisions, and a ‘get it done at all costs’ mindset that’s a tough one to accept.

Living in the Fast Lane

For years, I thrived under pressure.

Task lists. Late nights. Big wins.

My identity was built on momentum, action, and outworking everyone else in the room. If I wasn’t hustling, grinding, or pushing harder than the person next to me, something felt off.

But then something shifted.

In Q4 of last year, I made a radical choice: I slowed down.

Not because I burnt out. Not because I was forced to.

Because I chose to. Intentionally.

From Doing More to Doing Better

I stopped flinging 💩 at the wall and hoping something would stick.

I zoomed in on what was already working.

Rather than piling more on my plate, I started doing less but better.

I got ruthless. With everything.

  1. People
  2. Habits
  3. Business practices
  4. Energy

If it wasn’t aligned or adding value, it got cut. No apologies.

And the results?

Absolutely next level.

What Slowing Down Did for Me

1. Attracted better energy, people, and opportunities

The kind I always sensed I was capable of, but couldn’t reach while I was in ‘survival mode’.

2. Cleared out the deadwood

Not just in business or relationships but in my thinking.
No more letting energy drainers live rent-free in my head.
Block. Delete. Discard. Ruthlessly.

3. Record-breaking results

Q1 figures smashed. Q2 even better with a whole month left on the clock.

4. Secured top-tier clients

And finally earned my seat at the big table.

5. Bought an apartment in Lyon

A real home. A base. For me and my son. 🌞

Now, I create from inspiration, not desperation—and it shows.
In how I act.
How I speak.
How I carry myself.

People are noticing:

"You've changed Josh. More grounded. More strategic. You’ve levelled up."

Damn right I have.

Slowing Down Is a Strategy

This wasn’t just a mindset shift.
It was a full system upgrade.

Slowing down didn’t mean doing less.

It meant doing the right things with intention.

It meant giving myself the space to think, zoom out, and lead.

And if you’re still stuck in the loop I used to live in.

Always busy. Always chasing. Never fulfilled.

Maybe it’s time you reprogrammed your faulty ‘off switch’.

Slowing down isn’t weakness.

It’s power.
It’s clarity.
It’s the fastest route to real, sustainable success both in life and business.
